Marta Martinez, Esq.
About
Marta Maria Martinez, a licensed immigration attorney, was born and raised in Cuba. She earned her law degree in 1983 and practiced as an attorney in Cuba until 1995. She then emigrated to the United States, with a dream of continuing to practice law there. The odds were not in her favor, as only 0.1% of foreign trained lawyers are admitted to the U.S Bar without attending a law school.
She sat for the Louisiana State Bar for the first time in 2012, and they would see her five more times prior to officially passing. After meeting all requirements, the Louisiana Supreme Court granted her admission, and her dream of practicing immigration law in this country.
Before joining Gonzalez & Associates as an attorney, she was a remarkable client relations specialist, where she developed a deep-rooted commitment to putting clients first. That experience helped shape her approach. As she transitioned into becoming an attorney, she carried the same client-first mindset with her, pairing compassion with legal advocacy. As Marta says, Immigration Law is facing critical times, and she is proud to have the ability to help clients navigate through challenging times.
When she is not litigating, Marta enjoys spending time with her family, including sons, grandchildren, and her parents. She is actively involved in her community and enjoys staying active through daily exercise.
