About
Tahya, aka “Ty”, was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States at a young age. She completed all early education in Miami-Dade County before pursuing her undergraduate studies at Florida State University in Tallahassee, where she graduated with distinction in 1995. It was throughout her undergraduate studies where she was first introduced to the legal field, working as an office clerk for a sole practitioner. She went on to study at St. Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated with her Juris Doctorate in 1999, along with being admitted to the Florida Bar.
Ty has actively practiced civil litigation ever since, with a primary focus on trial work in civil cases. Similarly, she holds knowledge and experience in various areas of law, including family law, real estate transactions, and corporate acquisitions. She has had the opportunity to practice in various jurisdictions in Florida, broadening her depth of experience. Ty has been with the firm for over 17 years and has been a supervisor in the Person Injury Protection (PIP) department since 2010. As a senior associate, she has participated as first chair in numerous jury and bench trials and has supported as second chair.
Outside of the office, Ty loves traveling with her family and experiencing different cultures. In addition, Ty’s true extracurricular is advocating for the safety and wellbeing of animals, whether through volunteering at shelter & rescue organizations, or finding forever homes for abandoned pets.
